Absence....

Makes the Heart Grow Fonder? Yes, we know it has been a while. Life is busy and yet not. If you have a toddler that will make sense...
Mommy and I have been trying to keep busy though mostly I've just been keeping busy! I continue to amaze my Mommy with my ever-growing vocabulary and knowledge. She often reminds herself I am only two. (** I often find myself expecting more out of her and then realizing she may not quite be ready...)
Last weekend we had A LOT of rain. Therefore, the earlier promised Balloon Festival didn't really take place. The balloons did not get to fly for any of their "scheduled " appearances. We did stop by Saturday night on our way home and were excited to see some of them actually set up for the "Glow" they do when it is dark. It was not the impressive numbers promised, but for our first Balloon Festival we were still amazed. I can't wait to actually see them all flying next year!
I LOVE this look of Amazement and Wonder

The weekend also brought new friends. Mommy has a girl at work that started there a little after she did. Well, this girl, Katie, went to Undergraduate school in Wyoming (Mommy thought she looked familiar!) Anyway, her little boy was turning ONE and we got to go to the party! They are so nice and fun, we can't wait for Daddy to get home to meet them too! Katie has a 7 year old, a 2 year old, and now a 1 year old! Of course I think the "baby" is cute, I idolize the 7 year old, and am learning to share with the 2 year old :)

This week brought with it new beginnings. I got to start at my new school. The first day drop off went smooth and pick up, well, I didn't want to leave with Mommy. :) Of course, that didn't last long. Drop off got a little harder and I ran to Mommy upon pick up the rest of the week (Mommy kinda liked that). By Friday, we were settling in and things were getting smoother....

Saturday we ended up at Urgent care. I had been working on "nose stuff" all week, so when I woke from nap with a low fever Mommy decided for sure Sinus Infection and took me in. No point in waiting around! Well, to our surprise it was Sinus and Strep Throat. Ah, the world of daycare/ school! Doc said I'd be good to go on Monday but when the fever was still hanging out on Sunday afternoon Mommy decided we would have a down day at home on Monday. Of course, by Monday morning (today), I was fever free. I got to have a relaxed day with Mommy, a little play, a nice nap in my own bed, and now a good rest to start school again tomorrow. I Love seeing the airplanes every day!
Feeling a little better.
Thanks for the boots Grace!!

Oh, let's back up.... Friday night was "Members Exclusive" at the Zoo to see the Baby Lion Cubs! The Momma had 5 cubs in April/ May and they have been off display all summer. Apparently, the Dad will be re-introduced one day but no one was very specific as to when. They also said the Zoo is asked to hold them for up to 2 years before they send them other places (part of some cooperative breeding program they do). We are not quite sure how our zoo will hold 7 Lions, but we'll enjoy watching them play in the meantime!
Me, Hallie, & Avery at the Zoo

They were very much like Toddlers running about. The Momma would finally lay down, one would run to the other side of the pen and she'd be up and pacing around again... It was like she was constantly counting heads. I can't imagine...
(It was hard to get a good pic)

As cool as the new Lions were, the kids still favored the Giraffes and the feeding frenzy that accompanies them! We were actually excited to see them running too - like a game of tag. That is the most activity we've seen at the zoo!

Love till next time! x

I bet the giraffe can see Maddy coming from a mile away as many crackers as she has fed them. :-).
Does she have the zoo memorized? and it sounds like they have some great new exhibits. Love her wonder at the balloons, can't wait to see her reaction when she sees them in the air. Hugs, countdown has begun........

LOVE that boot picture! We know exactaly what you mean with the busy, but not really stuff. There's always something happening, just not always noteable. Do you have a date for Shaye's return? Getting excited to see some family pics :)
