Well, we finally think it feels a bit like Fall here. As the grass turns brown and Trick-or-Treating looms over us we are finally feeling it. Everywhere we turn, people are decorating in those beautiful colors and selling pumpkins. Although our mornings have been cooling off for a few weeks, it took a while to set in here. Our days are still mostly upper 80's, but the evenings are so nice for sitting outside. We are so excited to share this time of year with Daddy and his return is imminent!
Now, what to be for Halloween....

Making Muffins!
This week was full of sick. After I got sick last weekend, Mommy got it, or something and was home from work Wednesday. The doctor thought strep, turned out to be viral and stayed with her for several days. We were both finally better and able to play again by Sunday. Boy were we glad to see that leave! (The editor of this blog would like to acknowledge the error in last weeks blog. Madelyn had Strep not an Ear Infection. It has been changed)
When Mommy was feeling better she let me help in the kitchen. We made muffins and I helped make dinner, unload the dishwasher, and put away groceries. I just LOVE being "involved" in everything!

There are several 'miracles' about this picture:
1) Mommy cooked!
2) I am sitting, un-restrained.
3) I am eating (without bribery of a cookie).
4) I am and INSIST on drinking from a "big girl" cup.
Today is Columbus Day. What does that mean? Some (note
some) schools and businesses are closed. Government for sure - a.k.a. my new day care on base. Now, normally, Mommy might try to take it off. But with her out two days last week, it just wasn't good timing so I got to go back to my original day care from when we first moved here. Yep, I am a traveler! It actually went more successful than anyone could have guessed. I had so much fun with new kids, new toys, and no worries as I kissed Mommy goodbye for the day!
Finally, no videos this week but a couple of funny stories that Mommy has been thinking she should share of this journey we call
parenthood.
Madelyn copies EVERYTHING which I have learned the hard way (at times) :)
*One night at dinner she kept asking for ranch and I kept saying "We don't have any ranch"
And she kept asking, "Why" My reply, "Because it is all gone." Finally after several turns of this I boldly said (slow and a little louder) "We Don't Have Any Ranch!" As she replies, "Oh"
Probably a week later, as we are sitting eating dinner, she looks at me, smirks and boldly says (slow and little louder) "Not Have Any Ranch!"
*Sitting in the drive thru ATM line I hear from the backseat,
"Come on People!" (Hmm....)
* Driving out of the driveway my little recorder reminds me,
"Buckle up Mommy"
*She has learned the art of shopping. As she wants things, she now hands them to me and says, "Buy it."
Nice.
* And finally, I have decided maybe we have not been eating the best since Daddy has been away. I often ask Maddy "What do you want for dinner?" All too often the responses are:
- Ice cream! - Chicken. - French Fries
Well, one night her very serious response was:
"Heathers. Want Heathers."
Heather is a good friend from SD and neighbor here. We have probably been eating there once every couple weeks at least, occasionally several weeks in a row since Shaye left (bless her!)
(Sometimes she does say "peas" or "broccoli" and always eats when delivered :)
Love till next week, x
