Routines

Still upper 90's here. Lovin' our outside/water time!
So proud that she can work that sprayer!!!

Another week and we have fallen into a routine. I don't mind really, just don't have a lot to share week to week. We go to school/ work during the week and play on the weekends. Life is pretty good. We've gotten in a habit of talking to Daddy every night before bed which I really love. I don't always make it for in the best of moods, but it is nice that Daddy gets up extra earlier to spend time with me on the computer. These daily blips have helped me keep family in check and know he truly does still exist. I'm still not quite sure why he can't taste, smell, or feel the things I am trying to share with him but at least I can talk to him and give him kisses!!!

We have a very exciting change coming up next week. Mommy says I get to start going to school "at the big school with the airplanes". This is the base day care. Mommy and Daddy have been thinking for a long time it would be a good fit, but my current day care came open first. Lately, Mommy has had a lot of issues with Ms. Amber. She knows most are just cause she's my mom, but we think we might finally know what we want out of day care and hope/ believe the base can provide it. Mommy really didn't want to have another change for me while Daddy is away but we have to take these opportunities when they present themselves or else we may miss out. Plus, Daddy is super excited to share a few lunches and parent/ child dates with me once he gets home. The base care is really great about hosting events that parents can attend and we can't wait! I also have a few friends there. I won't be in their class yet, but maybe when I am two!!
Our favorite past time lately... The PARK!

This weekend we are excited that our favorite park is hosting a hot air balloon event. If it all works out, Friday night we get to go see them light up all the balloons and then they fly them on Saturday morning. We are still working on all the details, but Mommy really thinks this might be a fun way to spend our weekend - hopefully pics to share next week!

Oh, I'm sure there is more to share... I need to start writing down all the things that makes Mommy laugh and speed dial Nana for you to read each week...

Mommy stories:
~ Toddler Fashion: Pink Giraffe shirt + pink and purple plaid skirt + cool new LED Sketchers + Blue Cookie Monster socks. [Picking our battles and laughing a lot! :-) ]

~ One night while trying to go to bed, Maddy wouldn't stop talking during our 'quiet rocking time' I say, "You are a Chatty Cathy!" Puzzled toddler's reply: "I Maddy. I Maddy Melton."

Love till next week, x

Parks and Parade

Showing Daisy how much I love her - Again!

Another week in beautiful September finds us cooling down in temperature a little bit, but the humidity seems to be creeping up. We discovered that fast this weekend. We went for a girly breakfast at IHOP (a.k.a. "MyHop") and Mommy promised a morning at the park. Well, to our surprise it rained while we were eating and I quickly looked as though I had just taken a shower after a few romps around the playground. We've decided now that it is getting cooler we will spend more weekends exploring all these parks this city has been hiding ;)

This week, we spent our time hanging out. Rain off and on and heat to boot. This weekend brought a Fair and Rodeo that will be here all week. We attended the Parade for it on Saturday with Jacob and Kim. And although Mommy thinks some of it sounds fun, she has decided we should wait to experience the whole fair next year with Daddy. Something about rides, and dirty stuff, and too many people.... They are having an Extreme Tractor Pull that looks inviting though!

Did I mention Mommy is obsessed with "finishing" the house? Well, she is! She made me go buy a table this weekend. I really like it though (sofa table). Every time I walk past I remind her; "Like the table Momma"

I've also become very observant. When we were going to the table store the other day, Mommy stopped at a familiar stoplight where I inquired, "Mommy get coffee?" (as I saw Starbucks out the window) She said, No, no this time :) Guess she really likes Starbucks since Daddy has been away!
Park Fun!

Daddy did really great at his half marathon finishing it in 2 hours! Unfortunately, he got really dehydrated, got 3 IV bags and spent a couple days in bed. Hopefully that doesn't happen again! But we are proud of him for taking it on in a desert anyway! We were so happy to see him up and about on Sunday again (when we Skyped). I happily showered him (and the computer) in hugs and kisses!

Enjoy our pictures this week. Video is just me at the park!

September Already?!?

New booster. So far working pretty good! [knock knock]

Whew, these weeks seem to be going by... that's good though cause maybe Daddy will be home soon. I think Mommy and I are more than ready!

What has happened? Mommy didn't have any pictures last week so the post got put off and off and well, here we are! Last weekend, Mommy went to a conference in Austin and left me with Ms. Kim and her son Jacob. Kim worked with Mommy in SD and now here so they've known each other for a while. Jacob just turned 2 in June so, in theory, we should get a long great. Mommy left with Heather on Friday afternoon and was back late Saturday night. Kim says I did great!! Jacob and I played well, slept perfect (although getting the two of us down was a little tricky), and worked hard at teaching each other to share.

This last week has also gone by in a blur. Not fast really, just so routine we are pretty uneventful during the work days. Lucky for us, Mommy had a 3 day weekend because of the holiday. This weekend has been packed full of fun. Friday, Mommy and I layed low after work and had a girls/movie night. I even watched something other than Elmo or Mickey Mouse - "Open Season." Okay, I mostly wrestled with Daisy, but I watched a good 1/4 of it! I mostly enjoy movie night for the popcorn!
After Ms. Kim heaved us up this millions of times -
we both finally figured it out on our own. Serious toddler skills!

Saturday we met up for a play date with Jacob at Target and the Jump Around. Mommy and Kim both needed stuff so off we went. First, I wanted the same Train jammies Jacob was getting and then he wanted the Minnie Mouse ones I was getting - I think we both made it home with the appropriate pairs in the end.

Sunday was cleaning day. Mommy has got it in her head to all of a sudden finish the house. She is tired of empty walls and bare corners. She did an overhaul (good cleaning) and hung a couple of things that have been 'waiting' (for what? - I don't know) and felt pretty satisfied.

After nap, we met up with a co-worker of Mommy's - Katie. Get this -she started at the hospital in July, went to UW as an undergraduate right behind Mommy, and is originally from Spearfish!!! No, she is not military. She actually attended graduate school here and they decided to move back - small world! Anyway, she has 3 beautiful children - 6, 2, and 11 months. They all met us at the zoo. They have a new addition with new animals and it was a lot of fun. We didn't get any pictures. It was opening weekend for the new addition and their were so many people Mommy had to stay on her toes to keep up with me!

Finally, Monday rolled around and Mommy was on her "finish the house" kick again. We stopped by some furniture stores. She really wants a sofa table, some lamps, and maybe a bench or something to finish the living room. We didn't buy anything, but I can tell she's got some ideas churning...

This evening, we had Kim, Jacob, Brian, Heather, and Heather's mommy over for dinner. It was great. We made Auntie's Turkey burgers for the first time and they were a hit. I was having a little trouble sharing and playing nice though. Mommy actually put me in time-out TWICE while they were here! Guess I need to have people over more often and learn to share my toys.
Well that is about the excitement of our last two weeks. New things for me?
- I like to ask a LOT of questions. "Where Nana are?" "Where lovey are?" "Why?" (over and over) "What noise?" "What noise Momma?"
- Every night before going to bed I run through a laundry list: "Jacob sleeping? Kim sleeping? Nana sleeping? Huck sleeping? Kaylee (new neighbor friend!) sleeping? Kitty sleeping (neighbor's cat)? Papa sleeping? Morgan sleeping (Heather's dog)? Heather sleeping?" etc etc etc!!
- I have been requesting to sleep in Mommy's bed a lot. Never get to and never have (cause I won't) like the 3 times she has tried it. I just like to control my world.
- Picking everything everyday: What I wear, what shoes, what goes in my hair - true Diva style!
- Growing! The last two dresses I've put on barely cover the bum. Mommy is hoping to get some measurements soon!

Well, enjoy some videos this week. Our love to you all! x

Video: Walking Daisy - and then in true toddler form changing my mind.

Video: Sliding with Jacob at the Jump-Around (an indoor blow up jumping castle playland)

Video: I originally tried this on my own. Mommy laughed so hard. Of course she had to "suggest" it to get it on video!
