Happy Birthday Daddy (and Uncle Chad)!!

Well, it appears we either have nothing or too much to share in way of pictures/ videos!!

One day last week, Mommy and I got to go to Dairy Queen and have some ice cream. We then went home, planted some flowers, and I gladly helped water them.

Can you believe my Daddy and Uncle Chad were born on the very same day one year apart? Happy Birthday to them this past Saturday!

Mommy and I tried to make Daddy's day special. It was low-key with us not knowing lots of people here, but Daddy says he really enjoyed it.

We decorated the house. Daddy got home after midnight Friday from work and walked in to baloons and streamers:

I enjoyed his Cold Stone Creamery cake....TWICE :)We also spent the weekend working on the yard. Mommy and Daddy decided to do some more landscaping. Bonus for me = I got a water table! This is hours of outside fun in the heat and sunshine. Mommy said it was a worth-while investment with as much use as I got out of it on Sunday and I can only imagine the remainder of the summer!

Okay, I think that was most the excitement this past week - all wrapped up into our weekend. We are definitely enjoying this Texas sunshine and hope that feeling stays with us all year. Although we have learned we are either extra sensitive from England or TX sun is a lot hotter than we are used to. Daddy got a sunburn and he was only out for 20 minutes the first time - he's already tan though, of course!

***Couldn't decide which video I love most... What can I say, I'm her mom - they are all cute! And they are more for all those Grandmas that don't get to see her everyday.

Daisy, can you wear Mommy's shoes?

Yep, that's the word of the times. Everything is finally normal. Normal is good, not boring as you may think, but simply that we are all finally healthy, getting settled into a routine, and back in to life as we once new it. I am adjusting well to my new daycare and (knock on wood) have not gotten sick with our first week behind us. Mommy says things are getting busier at work and Daddy is preparing to switch to mids - a shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00. Although we are not excited that he will be away in the evenings, it is only through April so we can handle it. He is the main source of food around here so it will be interesting to see what Mommy comes up with ;-)

This weekend was a lot of fun. On Friday night, our good friend (and neighbor and Mommy's co-worker), Heather, watched me so that Mommy and Daddy could have a date night. I had a blast with her and her two doggies. I LOVE playing with the baby gate (to keep the dog's out of the kitchen) and pretty much spent the two hours opening and closing it. Mommy says they had great adult time at the Olive Garden and no baby climbing in and out of her chair.

Yes, you eat lollipops by rubbing the sticky stuff on your face... Duh!

Saturday was amazingly busy. Have I told you how much Texas loves their state? Well, it's true. There is a star, a flag, or their state everywhere around here. They are also so very patriotic and it is nice to see how much people appreciate my Daddy and his job. Saturday was the annual "World's Largest BBQ". They hosted it at the Civic Center and all active duty military and their families were invited to come and eat for free so they could show their appreciation. There were lots of volunteers greeting us as we came in and shaking Daddy's hand and telling him 'thank you'. (They also thought I was pretty cute :) They fed us some great food and we sat and visited and for the first time in the past 4 years truely got to appreciate what Daddy's job means to so many. Overseas you spend so much time trying not to be American, it is a refreshing change to be in such a patriotic state.

Saturday night we went to a new friends (that Daddy works with). He was celebrating his birthday and we got to meet his wife, kids (a 2 and 4 year old), and a couple other people. It was nice to be out and make new friends. I enjoyed it so much I didn't want to come home and slept very well all night!

Well, I think that's about it...
These days my world means:
1. Lots of talking and repeating everything I hear (yep, gotta watch that one)
2. Throwing some amazing tantrums.
3. Keeping Mommy and Daddy so busy when we got out, they may put family dinners out on hold for a bit.
4. I now mimic the actions to every song Mommy has sung since birth. She gets such a kick out of this (and really wants to get it on camera soon)!
5. I let Mommy fix my hair every day again and finally let her brush my teeth... sometimes.
6. Wanting to do everything Mommy and Daddy do, the way they do it.
7. Dance like a "maniac" (yes, this too needs to be appropriately captured on video).
8. Maul Daisy at every opportunity (she is so good about it).

I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I suppose that is what next week is for!

Nana!

I had sooooooo much fun with Nana here all week. She left me on Sunday and I keep looking for her around every corner of the house. Of course once I knew she was coming it was time to get healthy ASAP and by Tuesday I was doing really well. Poor Mommy got the sick from me though. She had to spend tow days at home herself. She said if Nana wouldn't have been here, we would have had a really rough week because she wasn't in any real shape to take care of me herself.

I am all over Daisy all the time- she's a good sport though.

Unfortunately, Nana didn't see anything outside of our house and neighborhood until Friday when Mommy got off work and took us out. Saturday we tried to pay her back a little by taking her shopping. Mommy and her even went and got their toes all done up. They are really sparkley!

Today, Mommy and Daddy finally got their new King size bed. I can't wait to jump on that! It was quite an ordeal getting it and took a long time so hopefully it was worth the wait. We'll let you know...

It was a pretty boring week around here (well, what Mommy was able to get on record anyway). Nana and I didn't take any pictures so that way we couldn't get in trouble ;)

Happy Easter!

Loving my slide... and all this 80 degree weather!Okay so we have this island, nothing is in it - this is why.
Obviously, an island with doors on both sides is for the children!

Happy Easter everyone! Well, these days are finding us sick... AGAIN! Man, daycare is hard on these little ones. 20 of our first 30 days within daycare have kept me on antibiotics. Now, we have a GI bug (confirmed by a doc visit Friday) and questionable hand-foot-mouth. (Diagnosed by my symptoms with some help from WebMD and talking to my auntie) All this on the cusp of starting a new daycare... What did we do? Panic of course!

Daddy has training all week and can't take off work. Mommy is still on probation at work and hasn't even started to earn leave yet, so the prospect of having to stay home all week with a sick one was a bit tricky to figure out. Although I'm sure they would have been understanding and cancelled all those patients, Mommy didn't feel right about it so when Nana volunteered a last minute trip - we couldn't refuse! Daddy got online and flew her down here the very next day! She got to spend Easter with us and is now here for the whole week! Thankfully, I am feeling a lot better - eating my first meal since Wednesday today. Still having a few issues, but am definitely on the mend. Mommy, on the other hand, well, I decided to share the bug with her and she had to stay home from work today but is hoping to return tomorrow. Blah to daycare bugs!!!!

Easter was as good as it could have been considering...
We did nothing we planned (church, friends, the works) I never did get to dye Easter eggs. Mommy boiled some with hopes I would feel up to it. Maybe Nana and I will tomorrow, just for fun. I tried some jigglers. Not sure about jello, that stuff is slimy! The Easter bunny brought me a grocery cart complete with food, and I got to go on an egg hunt in the back yard. Did you know they put candy in those things? Mmmmm.
I also got a few packages from my family. Thank you so much!

Daddy made an amazing dinner that we ate after picking Nana up from the airport. A yummy ham, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. I finally ate some today, and Mommy, well maybe there will be some left when she's ready ;)

I think that is all that is new in this household. We look forward to some adventures with Nana this week and hope we don't make her sick too.
